Dan Goldsmith

Dan Goldsmith

General Manager, Europe

As General Manager, Europe, Dan is responsible for Veeva’s European operations. He is an experienced executive with nearly 15 years of Life Sciences CRM experience from IBM/PricewaterhouseCoopers and Accenture.

Dan has driven and delivered Global CRM strategies and solutions for most of the world’s largest pharmaceutical companies, and he is a trusted advisor to many executives at these organisations. He has deep experience implementing Sales Force Effectiveness solutions, and has architected and implemented industry leading solutions in the areas of Mobility, Medical Information, Master Data Management, Digital Channel Execution and Marketing. He has managed executive teams, sales teams, and delivery teams in excess of 200 people.

Dan has won multiple industry awards for innovative solutions and delivery. He holds a Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Rochester.

Angelique Aldaya

Vice President, Professional Services, Europe

As VP of Professional Services for Europe, Angelique is responsible for ensuring that our customers achieve the highest levels of success with their implementations of Veeva solutions and applications.

Angelique brings over 20 years of relevant experience within Professional Services, of which 7 have been dedicated to the Life Sciences industry. Prior to joining Veeva, Angelique was vice president of Global and European Operations at life sciences CRM company, Cegedim. Prior to that, Angelique spent over a decade in various senior-level technology project management roles at NCR France, a solutions integration company. Angelique has extensive experience in building and managing professional services teams to serve life sciences users worldwide.

Angelique graduated from the Université Pierre et Marie Curie and earned a Masters of Computer Science from Paris VI University. She has also earned accreditation in project management from the Project Management Institute and undertaken Prince2 training. Angelique is fluent in French, Spanish and English.

Ian Pollard

Vice President Sales, Europe

Ian, our VP of Sales for Europe, has responsibility for expanding Veeva’s European sales operation—a charge for which he is uniquely qualified. Ian has over 15 years experience leading sales organisations for software companies, including 10 years within the CRM industry.

Starting in 2001, as the founding member of Unica Europe, Ian gained particular expertise in launching and building European sales operations for US-based software companies. Over a seven-year period he strengthened the operation and went on to lead the Northern European sales team.

Prior to joining Veeva Systems, Ian worked with Siperian where he successfully ran European Sales and then transitioned them under the Informatica umbrella following the company’s acquisition of Siperian. Over the past several years, Ian has focused on driving sales of systems that enable major pharmaceutical companies to streamline operations and better execute their sales and marketing initiatives.

Ian holds a BSc Honors degree in Computer Science from the University of Manchester.

Nate Gazaway

Vice President, SMB, Europe

As Vice President of the Small Market Businesses sector (SMB), Nate is responsible for sales and professional services delivery of Veeva CRM solutions to SMB organisations across Europe. Nate has been involved in and led over 50 Veeva implementations, and is an expert in SaaS and agile project methodologies, as well as new emerging commercial models. Nate has developed and delivered specific deployment strategies for SMB pharmaceutical companies that have allowed them to harness the power of a SaaS environment. These strategies take a deep look at the needs of the SMB customer and the challenges they face around technology.

Prior to joining Veeva, Nate ran Gazaway Consulting Services which specialised in Salesforce.com implementations. Nate graduated from Warren Wilson College and attended the Masters of International Business Programme at Georgia State University.

Arno Sosna

Arno Sosna

Director of Product Management, Europe

As Director of Product Management for Veeva Europe, Arno is responsible for designing and developing the Veeva CRM suite of applications for the region. He’s committed to ensuring close cooperation with customers and delivering on the promise of speed and innovation.

Arno has extensive experience as a Consultant and System Architect of global CRM systems, and a background in Life Sciences that spans Rx, OTC, and Animal Health businesses. Prior to joining Veeva, he served as Program Manager and System Architect for the Life Science division of Update Software AG. And earlier in his career, he supported clients with CRM implementations in the banking and construction industries.

Arno’s work has led him across several continents—Europe, the Americas and Asia—so he is familiar with an array of markets and adept at balancing a global perspective with an understanding of local requirements.

Arno graduated from the University of Applied Sciences in Eisenstadt and holds a Master’s degree in Information Management.

Selma Nawaz

Marketing Director, Europe

In her role as European Marketing Director, Selma is responsible for driving the marketing strategy and execution for the region. Selma brings over 8 years of international marketing experience gained in the lifesciences industry with a solid understanding of the issues that challenge the industry today.

Prior to joining Veeva, Selma worked at IMS Health for over 4 years, where she served as Marketing Communications Manager, EMEA. She played a key role in driving regional marketing programmes across various business practices including Commercial Effectiveness, Pricing and Market Access and Pharmerging Markets. Selma also assumed responsibility of ensuring brand alignment and consistency across the region. In addition, she established critical new marketing processes to drive increased marketing efficiency and effectiveness across EMEA.

Prior to that Selma played a crucial management role at eyeforpharma, where she was responsible for the company’s strategic direction, commercial strategy and performance.

Through these roles Selma has gained extensive experience in marketing planning and strategy development, marketing operations and sales.

Selma holds a 2:1 BA (Hons) degree in Business Studies, specialising in marketing.

Andreas Fjellner

Operations & Product Support Director, Europe

As Director of Operations and Product Support for Europe, Andreas is responsible for the business infrastructure and support services across this region.

Andreas has over sixteen years of IT experience in both small and global organisations. He spent the last six years working in senior IT roles for IBM and Symantec.

Prior to joining Veeva, Andreas worked at Symantec as part of the Global Backline team. Here he worked to resolve highly complex and escalated cases covering the Endpoint Security line of products, for the EMEA region and India.

Andreas studied Economics and Statistics at Umeå University, and Systems Engineering at the Royal Institute of Technology/Stockholm University. Andreas has also travelled to the Balkans on two peacekeeping tours.

Peter Gassner

Peter is responsible for the overall direction and management of Veeva Systems. In 2010, Peter was named to the PharmaVOICE 100, which recognises the 100 most influential people in the life sciences industry. Peter is a twenty year veteran of the software industry.

Prior to founding Veeva, Peter was Senior Vice President of Technology at salesforce.com where he had responsibility for building the salesforce.com platform including product, marketing, and developer relations. During Peter’s tenure, salesforce.com completed its public offering and grew the technology into the most successful SaaS platform in the industry.

Before salesforce.com, Peter was with PeopleSoft for 9 years as both Chief Architect and General Manager of PeopleTools. Peter led a team of over 450 professionals who provided the development, strategy, marketing and customer support for PeopleSoft’s technology platform. PeopleTools was widely regarded in the industry as the best application platform of its day.

Peter began his career with IBM in relational database development and research at IBM Silicon Valley Lab and then at IBM Almaden Research Centre, where he had the privilege of working closely with some of the inventors of relational database technology.

Peter holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from Oregon State University.

Matt Wallach

Matt is responsible for strategy, marketing, alliances, and business development at Veeva Systems. In 2007, Matt was named to the PharmaVOICE 100, which recognises the 100 most influential people in the life sciences industry.

Before founding Veeva, Matt held various executive roles at small healthcare technology companies in product management, marketing and business development.

Prior to his small company forays, Matt was the General Manager of the Pharmaceuticals & Biotechnology division at Siebel Systems, which has since been acquired by Oracle. During his time at Siebel, Matt was responsible for building this global division, which grew from its inception to over $140 million under his leadership, capturing greater than 80% market share in the pharma CRM and clinical trial management (CTM) markets. At one point, nearly half of all pharma sales reps on earth used the products created during his tenure at Siebel, though that is rapidly changing these days.

Matt currently serves as a Senior Advisor to SeventySix Capital, a leading early stage venture capital fund, and is on the Advisory Board at Crossix, an innovator in the healthcare analytics arena. Matt received his MBA from the Harvard Business School, with honors, and his BA in Economics from Yale University, cum laude.

Tim Cabral

As CFO, Tim is responsible for all aspects of Financial Management and G&A Operations. He brings over 20 years of technology finance background and nearly 10 years of software finance and operations background.

Prior to joining Veeva Systems, Tim served as CFO/COO for Walsh Wireless, a wireless solutions and services company and as CFO/CoFounder of Agistics, a start-up focused on employee management services. Tim also spent more than 7 years at PeopleSoft, Inc., where he held various positions, including VP of Products & Technology Finance and Senior Director of Corporate FP&A. During his tenure as VP of Finance, Tim created and built the Operational Controller team and developed an influential business partnership model with General Managers who owned business units driving upwards of $250m in revenue.

Prior to PeopleSoft, Tim served in finance positions at Chiron Corporation and LSI Logic. Tim holds a MBA in Finance and a Bachelors Degree in Finance from Santa Clara University.
